In Bloodlender, Sophie gains temporary control over her powers thanks to the water from the Parc des Sources. 

Visit the beautiful Art Nouveau Hall and have fun trying the water from the different taps (magical side effects optional).

In Timebender, Sophie and her new friends celebrate her birthday and the Swiss National Day at Les Îles, a beautiful parc near the town of Sion.

This is the perfect place to relax, enjoy an ice cream and take in the view of the mountains surrounding you. Fireworks and first kisses dependant on the company you keep.

In Riftmender, Sophie unexpectedly finds herself in Luxembourg, a country she knows nothing about. 

One of its best attractions is the Casemates de la Pétrusse, where you can visit the network of caves beneath the city and learn about the fortress's fascinating history, but be warned: there are a lot of steps.

Doors marked "private" may or may not lead to druidic sanctuaries.

From Vernet Forest to the Pont de l'Europe, Sophie travels all over Vichy in the first two books. 

After a day admiring the  local architecture, book yourself a spa treatment or take a break in one of Vichy's many parks along the River Allier.

While Sophie's school, Lycée René Barjavel, doesn't actually exist, you can pick up a copy of the French speculative fiction writer's many books in any of Vichy's bookshops.

When Sophie discovers the city of Sion in Timebender, she is told the legend of a Bloodlender witch that lived in the ruined Château de Tourbillon. 

If you're not afraid of a steep climb (and a curse or two), make sure to visit the castle as well as the neighbouring Valère Basilica.

You've survived a visit to the casemates and now you find yourself in need of a drink and a (giant) slice of cake.

Head over to Chocolate House Nathalie Bonn opposite the Grand Duke's Palace, where Sophie and Rita enjoy some hot chocolate and giant marshmallows in Riftmender.
